into parade float
blare
spectacle.....new
years day and an illusory city flows along
tributaries of
cloth, flowers, sentimentality and
nostalgia....
the
dry persistence
of the santa ana
winds
.....of the dust
spires and newspaper collecting against
fence
wires..........and
irritation and a dust mote pixelated
chaos
overlays the city...
......as high thin
cloud turns the sky into dull
detritus....
the earthquakes as
the trauma and stress of the ground..
..a parallel to the
human memory and frail psyche collected
into being
over time and
shaped........ of history...events..........
the
ground is
reordered in a sort of physical memory.......the
alteration
of roads....movement
of landmarks.....
.and above all a
brief other city ...of ceiling as enemy in
aftershocks......of a
unity in with strangers as
stratification's are
briefly pulled
clean......all is
vital........crucial.......tangible.........
and then
the city
falls away into itself again ........prismatic
multiples....... a
hundred cities with a name..........
