Complicity
This poem was previously published in the Winter 2002-03 issue of
Yellow traffic light
Red dyke runs across Broadway
White cop drives up fast
Writes ticket cites public good
Ignores challenge from white queer
Adamant faggot
Questions motive talks of rape
Happening right then somewhere
while this white cop claims
bosses orders crackdown time
I witness standing
in the rain night wind blowing
Don't challenge loudly
Allow silence to protect
Me white between red and blue
