Down the Avenue in Style
(Gothenburg, Sweden)
I. Three Steps from Piercing the Curb
Today I take the asphalt leap with one eye
fixed to my cheek. So, my two rhythmical
boots remain stuck on the burning ground.Circular breathing offers me temporary relief:
The unexpected price of sensuous experience.
So I, the oppressor, need no spatial relief. My Swedish Steps are free, rewarded for
nothing, and you, my one-string quartet,
will always be on my side of the rhythm.
II.
Ten Steps from Romancing with the Unseen
When the mural is painted in murky colors
the high summer-pasture shines in the stains.A frame of beryllium is spread out on the edge
of the wall, as the metal colors begin to fondle.A half intermezzo appears between red and
purple: ground maize kernels the shadowof an iceberg — the same shadow delivers the
final crushing blow in the shape of a bassoon.Perfection between red and purple: the
venetian blinds come to a closure.
III.
Sixteen Steps from Developing a Desirous Edge
The despot wakes up by the picture
of the dangerous and desired father. He hits him with the light-wood,
thinking he is healing the frame.Ligaments spur his face into the
light; clearly this is a smokey life.Up then on the higher ground, leaving
the father’s shape to paint the icons.A son’s worth: it rhymes with fame,
as light shines in the ancient of days. This is a No Drama where the flesh
and the road are bracketed on stage.Mechanical bliss arrives in the
shape of a jade star collection.Gothic River clears up beneath
our finely outstretched fingers.
